Men’s Retreat
The men of Vintage are getting geared up for an awesome weekend of fun, fellowship, and relaxation. We have secured a cabin near the Dam Site on Beaver Lake. The cabin is not very big ( I think its around 1,000 sq. ft.) so it might be cozy, depending on our turnout (I hope that doesn’t discourage anyone, we will make room for everyone). Our plan is for this retreat is for it to be a time of fellowship above all else, with the hectic nature of our lives it is rare that we find time that we could spend with each other outside of church, so we are trying to create a space that we could escape and relax around like minded men.
Our tentative schedule is as follows:
Friday night the 19th-
5:00-5:30pm @ Vintage for a carpool out to the cabin. (I will get directions together for any one who needs them)
7:00 dinner @ the cabin.
8:00 fellowship/ icebreakers
Saturday the 20th-
9:00 breakfast
10:00 structured time (small groups; discussion topics- men in relationship with God, men in relationship with family, men in relationship with each other)
12:00 Lunch
1:00 recreation time
4:00 clean up
4:30 departure
We decided that the easiest way to deal with food is if we all could give some money to just purchase what we will need, we should have an estimate of about how much that would be with in the next week or so. A couple other things to be thinking about; one is sleeping, there are 4 beds in the cabin, so you will probably need to bring a sleeping bag, and if anyone has an air mattress that they could bring that would be great. Another thing to think about is bringing something for the recreation time, we will have 3 canoes and a couple of kayaks, so fishing is an option. And anyone who plays music please bring some instruments for some worship time.
Please let Cheyne Houston, Mike Freeman, or Justin Favorite know if you have any questions or ideas.
