I think pages 74-76 kind of round out the discussion about testing that we had after chapter 5. It further describes the vibe I was trying to express with my comment there. God is pleased when we do what he designed us to do. Ultimately, He knows our motives in all that we do, and how we do what we do. Man looks on the outward and judges actions. God is able to weigh our hearts, and even when we screw up, he knows when we meant well.

I know that graowing up i was always trying to please someone and it seemed as though all the efforts that i would pour into the act of pleasing was fleeting. I couldn't please my mother , i couldn't please my father, i couldn't please my siblings or my peers no matter how hard I tried.

Then somewhere in my senior year of college it dawned on me that the only one i should be trying to please was God and then i realized how easily pleased he was. I could please him by being kind, by obeying, by loving, and caring, I realized that i could just be me and God would be pleased.
