The Blitz has Begun

Welcome to the Vintage website! If you saw one of the 200 signs we put out all over NWA, let us know which one got you to check us out. Feel free to let us know what you think of the site, and our plan for a new church in NWA.

Robb and Aaron get ready to blitz NWA.

Thanks, Ben, for your help!

Mattie and Calvin are ready for Vintage!

Vintage is going public.

Robb is running to get signs up.

    Hi guys,
My husband and I saw your sign getting off southbound 540 at Pleasant Grove Rd…actually I should probably clarify that it was US getting off the bypass, not the sign. I wanted to see if you were somehow connected with Fellowship Bible Church NWA right down the road from your sign. In my inspection of your website, it’s clear you’re not :-)
    Go for it ya’ll!

    Cheri,

Thanks for your comment. Fellowship Bible is a wonderful church, and we have many great friends there. Though we don’t have any official union with them, they have been a big encouragement to us! We are all on the same team. Aaron has been attending there for a few years before committing to get Vintage started. Thanks for your encouragement!

    Hey guys,

I saw your sign on southbound College Ave just before getting on I-540. Love the design, and wish you well with the church plant. I’m a member at The Grove in Fayetteville and very sympathetic to your goals and values.

  4. Aaron Says:

    David,

Thanks for the well wishes! Brett and Kent were gracious enough to have lunch with us a few months back and let us pick their brains as the Grove is obviously a few steps further down this road than we are. We hope Vintage is yet another mechanism for the gospel to reach more people in NWA.

Hey there! I was driving back on 71B through Springdale. I don’t often drive through springdale, so I don’t know the cross-street’s name, but I want to say it was near the big rock sign for downtown? I just got back from college for the summer, and am sad to hear the church won’t be in full-swing until fall. This church sounds exactly like what I have been looking for all over the state, and I can’t wait to come back and find it all up and running!

  6. Robb Says:

    Katherine,

Thanks for the message. I hope you can stop by even this summer while you are around. June 11 at 10 am at the Malco Twin Theater at the mall is our first service. Where do you go to school?

  7. Lief Eric Malone Says:

    Hey!
Saw your signs on the way to and from work in Springdale (live in Bella Vista) just off of 71b by wal-mart and again getting off of 540S to the lowell exit. Are you guys part of the “emergent” church? We (my fiance and I) just got finished studing the emergent church and post-modern interpretation (among other things) in our Issues of Interpretation class at OCC in Joplin. It’s really cool to see a progressive and missional church in NWA! I’d love to hear about your hermeneutical approach, I can’t seem to find any specifics on the page.

    Thanks,
    Eric

  8. Aaron Says:

    Eric,

Thanks for posting. Your encouragement is much appreciated.

As far as hermeneutics, we take Scripture literally, taking into account historical, grammatical, and literary nuances in the original languages (both Robb and I are students of Greek and Hebrew). We try to do our best to gain an understanding of what the original authors were attempting to convey to their original readers, and then communicate that in a relevant way to our lives today. We are not foolish our prideful enough to think we are infallible when it comes to understanding it purely, or communicating it perfectly.

More of a homiletical explanation is probably required here as well. We both value the story and narrative aspects of how God revealed Himself in Scripture, and seek to emulate that in our communication of it. Somewhere along the line we’ve latched onto the adjective “abductive” to desribe what we hope to do in our teaching. We desire to abduct listeners verbally, engaging as many senses in the process of communicating, so that they are drawn into the story and are more deeply impacted by the practical outworking of Scripture’s truth. We desire the study, communication, and discussion of Scripture to be lively, engaging, thoughtful, riveting, awe inspiring, and ultimately life changing.
